Damodar Kunda, which lies in the Northeast side of Mustang district, carries immense religious importance for Hindus. The lake at the height of 5400m is cold and windy but offers a magnificent view of the mountains including Annapurna South, Muktinath peak, DamodarHimal and the southern part of the Tibetan plateau.
In Hindu mythology, the lake is considered as the Head of Lord Bishnu. BarahPuran is a Hindu holy book where knowledge about DamodarKunda is mentioned. Lord Krishna has said that who pays a visit to DamodarKunda and takes a deep-bath, he/she will be free from all kinds of sin they did in this life or previous life. Hindus devotees from all around the world wish to take a holy bath at least once in their lifetime to be freed from all the sin. It is believed that the main source of the Kali Gandaki River is DamodarKunda.
The DamodarKundaHeli Tour takes off from the domestic airport in Kathmandu, early in the morning. The ride offers a panoramic view of the Langtang range and Mansiri range in the Annapurna region.
At first land to Muktinath, the famous destination of Hindu and Buddhist peoples situate an altitude of 3800 meters. Yearly thousands of devotees visit and take bath in 108 holy taps (Muktidhara) and deep in MuktiKunda which is in-front of the temple.
And then resume the journey to DamodarKunda. During exploration in DamodarKunda, Hindu devotees can prayers and perform rituals and finally return to Kathmandu. The entire trip lasts for about 3-4 hours.
As you arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu, one of our representatives will greet you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After hotel check-in, you will be provided a welcome drink. After that, you can take rest and relax in the hotel. Later on, we will introduce with your trekking guide and another member of our office. In the evening, you can stroll around the Thamel Bazaar in order to make place familiar with trekking guide. You can also do some shopping if you want. You can also enjoy welcome dinner with our team and stay overnight in the hotel at Kathmandu.
Wake up in the morning and transfer to domestic airport to take a Helicopter Flight to Damodar Kunda. It is around 3.5 hours total flight timing (both way) for this trip. Overnight at Kathmandu.
Wake up in the morning have breakfast and get ready to drive back to International Airport.Check out time is 12 noon.
