The Gosaikunda (4380m) lakes are regarded as holy by both Hindus and Buddhists. It is popular as the frozen lake (remains frozen for six months in winter October to June), carries a huge natural and religious significance. According to Hindu Mythology, Lord Shiva stroke his trident in the Himalayas to clear his thrust he felt after swallowing poison, as a result, the lake was formed.
The water of Gosaikunda is considered holy water whereas there is a place carrying a particular significance during the Gangadashara festival and the Janai Purnima festival where thousands of pilgrims from Nepal and India visit the area.
The Langtang GosainkundaHeli tour starts from the TIA, in the early morning. The flight takes over the densely inhabited city of Kathmandu, lush rhododendron forest and finally the rugged mountain landscapes. We make our first landing in KyanjingGompa and from there head towards Gosainkunda. During exploration in Gosainkunda, Hindu devotees can prayers and perform rituals and finally return to Kathmandu.
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport where one of our representatives will receive you and drop you to the hotel. As you reach the hotel, after hotel check-in, you can take rest and be fresh. We will introduce you to your guide and another member of our company. In the evening, you can stroll around the vibrant Thamel Bazaar and can do some shopping in the striking bazaar. Langtang Helicopter Tour begins. After breakfast we transfer you to the airport. We fly north from Kathmandu to Kyanjing Gompa (3730m) / Gosaikunda (4380 meters) and land there. You will explore Kyanjing Monastery and local cheese factory and smiling local Sherpa people and mountain yaks make it an insightful sightseeing tour. Beautiful scenery of the Langtang Mountain range can be seen from here. Or if you land in Gosainkunda Lake, you will go around the frozen lake and visit the temple for prayers and perform pooja/worship,and finally, you will fly back to Kathmandu.
